Rotary Community
Service Scholarship

The Rotary Community Service Scholarship will not be offered in 2020.

To promote and recognize community service by Rice students, the Rotary Club of West U has offered a scholarship in the spring of each year since 1999 to a continuing undergraduate student at Rice University.  The current scholarship amount is $3000.  An important criterion for selection is the applicant's record of community service outside the Rice campus community that embodies the Rotary motto of "Service above Self".  The recipient must have at least one more full-time semester at Rice after the current spring semester before graduation and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.2. Finalists may be interviewed and the winner will be asked to attend a Rotary meeting to accept the award and give a brief talk on their service activities.

Information on the West University Rotary Club including its current service projects may be found on its web site (www.westurotary.org).
