INDEPENDENT TRAVEL EXPERIENCE

Goliard Scholarship

About the Goliard Fellowship:

If you're itching to embark on thrilling adventures abroad while pursuing your degree, you're in luck! The Goliard Fellowship is here to make your travel dreams a reality. The Goliard provides an incredible opportunity for experiential learning beyond the confines of the lecture hall.

The Goliard Fellowship, bestowed by the esteemed Goliard Board of Governors, captures the spirit of those wandering students of yesteryear. These bold souls from the 12th and 13th centuries were known for their satirical Latin verse and love for convivial living. In the same vein, the Goliard Fellowship aims to support your independent exploration abroad. It's all about embracing the freedom to embark on an unforgettable journey tailored to your interests and aspirations.

Unleashing Your Curiosity:

With the Goliard Fellowship, the possibilities are endless. You have the freedom to choose any topic or theme that fascinates you. Whether it's diving into the culinary traditions of a foreign land, immersing yourself in the local sports scene, exploring the vibrant world of music and art, or indulging in dance and culture—this fellowship encourages you to pursue your passions and explore beyond the boundaries of your academic pursuits.

The Purpose Behind the Fellowship:

The Goliard aims to foster personal growth, cultural understanding, and invaluable experiences that transcend traditional classroom learning. It's all about breaking free from the confines of routine, embracing the unfamiliar, and broadening your perspective. These fellowships are not intended solely for research-driven endeavors, but rather for your personal growth and the enrichment of your global perspective.

Fellowship Perks:

While the fellowship aims to alleviate some of the financial burdens associated with travel, it's important to note that they may not cover all of your expenses. The Goliard Fellowship can assist with incidental travel items, like that early-morning cup of coffee or tea to start your day, or perhaps that intriguing newspaper you stumble upon while exploring a bustling foreign city.
