Talk to me about: Alternative Spring Break (ASB), Capstone
Major: Biosciences (Concentration in Cell Biology and Genetics)
Minor: Medical Humanities
Hey! My name is Barakat Ibrahim, and I am a senior at Wiess studying Biosciences with a minor in Medical Humanities. I am pre-med and hope to work with children in the future. My first contact with the CCL was as a participant in Alternative Spring Break (ASB) learning about healthcare for refugee communities. The following year, I led an ASB, which was focused on the foster care system. Both of these experiences led me to realize that I want to learn more about civic engagement, which is why I am aiming to earn the CCL certificate. Outside of the CCL, I am involved in the Rice African Student Association (RASA) and Diversity Council at Wiess.
