Civic Leadership Capstone:
UNIV 402 and UNIV 403

Looking to build on your Learn or Act level CCL experiences? Design and implement your own civic project alongside a community partner and a cohort of peers through the Capstone course.

The Capstone fulfills the final requirement for the Certificate in Civic Leadership. Students review principles of ethical community engagement, identify an issue and partner to work with to develop a proposed project in the fall semester. Student implement the project with their community partner in the spring and submit a final report to the partner and the CCL on their project.

The capstone is a valuable pre-professional leadership experience. Although the projects are highly independent, students find value in working alongside their peers to troubleshoot and inspire each other. They also find resources for project management and critical reflection leads to successful projects that they can use as examples for future professional opportunities. Take a look at previous capstone projects for inspiration!
