Hello everyone! My name is Jenna, and I am one of your International Service Program ambassadors! I am so excited to be able to be a listening ear, a guide, or just a friend who can help you with all of your questions and inquiries about the different international programs the CCL hosts, such as GCI (Global Civic Internships), Moody Global Fellowships, or other international internships and opportunities. My CCL journey started at the CCL showcase—when I was just a freshman—and I ran into my friend, who was running an ASB program in the Rio Grande Valley. I ended up participating, and it was the highlight of my freshman year. After this, I participated in LRME my freshman summer, where I interned with Arte Público Press at the University of Houston. In the 2025-26 school year, I co-led an Alternative Spring Break surrounding bilingual education, dual language programs, and heritage language preservation. Then, I had the phenomenal opportunity to participate in the Loewenstern Fellowship from May to August 2026, working alongside Enseña por Argentina in Buenos Aires, Argentina (during the Mundial!) which was one of the most incredible, meaningful, and special experiences of my life. I miss empanadas every day. Thanks to all of these adventures, I have been able to start the process of exploring my own international linguistics research project as well. If you have any questions, or if you ever want someone to talk to about these experiences (or the culture shock that comes with them); look over your applications; or anything else, always feel free to reach out: my email is jb256@rice.edu. :)
