Outreach Day

Civic Leadership Competencies: Values, Beliefs, Assumptions, Diversity of Communities and Cultures

Outreach Day, coordinated by the Center for Civic Leadership and the Rice Student Volunteer Program (RSVP), is a campus-wide service learning event that brings together Rice students and community members to learn about a pressing social issue in Houston. During Outreach Day, participating students gain a greater awareness of how a specific social issue affects Houston and its residents. Students hear from experts working in the field and particpate in direct service with local organizations. This event occurs once a semester, in August and March.
