The Beinecke Scholarship offers funding for graduate school in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Scholars receive a total of $34,000 to attend graduate school. Applicants must demonstrate both financial need and a record of scholastic achievement, intellectual ability, and personal promise.
There are no geographic restrictions on the use of the scholarship, and recipients are allowed to supplement the award with other scholarships, assistantships and research grants. Scholars are encouraged to begin graduate study as soon as possible following graduation from college, and must utilize all of the funding within five years of completion of undergraduate studies.
Campus Deadline : Sunday, January 10, 2021 by 11:59 PM
Funding Available : Each scholar receives $4,000 immediately prior to entering graduate school and an additional $30,000 while attending graduate school.
Where you can study/travel : U.S. or internationally; no geographic restrictions.
Who is eligible : Juniors with significant financial need.
How to apply :
- Personal statement of 1,000 words or less describing plans for graduate study and career aspirations. The statement should include a discussion of some experiences and ideas that have shaped those interests, plans and aspirations.
- Application form (obtained from the Beinecke Scholarship national website)
- Financial data sheet completed by university financial aid officer certifying need-based requirement
- 3 Letters of recommendation
Selection Process : Interview with faculty committee. One campus nominee will be selected.
